Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one time without having to swap out devices. They can also reduce space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its relatively affordable price, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
For instance, you can, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are superb and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only drawback is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed. However, a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing, where it's going, and which obstacles it's avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows the maintenance tasks that need to be done, such as emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time, with the mop capable of operating for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is well laid out and is easy to comprehend, though we would have liked to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. Unlike last year's model, this one features a double agitator in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to remove small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners may overlook.
The Roborock model, like the other two I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its direction automatically and clean the objects without missing a step.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, however, it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-filling.
The only negative I found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to remove the mount itself to wash manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with its innovative features, top suction power and advanced mowing abilities. Its clever design permits personalized and efficient cleaning, while also saving time.
The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry messes. It has a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the need for pads. The X40 is also extremely quiet in operation with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 also has a side brush that is able to be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges such as table and chair legs. The robot is also able to reach under furniture with low profile which makes it a great choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to prevent damage to floors from repeated back-and-forth movements.
Unlike other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can also be programmed to avoid areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors or reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and intuitive and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers numerous convenient features, making it a great option for busy families. The docking station will automatically cleans the dustbin and mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also detect when the mop pad is filled and alert you before it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. However, it has a number of characteristics that make it stand out. best rated robot vacuum is a brand new feature in its mop heads, makes use of two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.
There's a wealth of settings on offer that include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. They can be set through the app or there are buttons that can be found on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a number of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also has a number of functions that are not available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a little heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list - at 4kg however it's not overly heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well-designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
